As a little girl back in the 50's i remember my mom, mom mom and aunts carrying their Wilardy handbags. I always loved them because of their rich color and shiny appearance and when you touched them they were so soft. All of my beloved family members from that generation are gone now in Heaven and thankfully, they left me these beautiful purses. I just wanted to share this story with your dad and your family. I read the history of your bags and i enjoyed the history behind them. Please tell your family that i will always treasure my beautiful purses that your family made and when it's my time to leave this earth, i will pass them down to my sisters and their daughters. Take Care and God Bless you and yours. Rubina

So happy to find your site and see photos of Wilardy bags I don't have, which I will now be searching for like a crazy lady. I have 3 of your bags and always get a compliment when I carry one - so unique, so fabulous, LOVE THEM!

I have four or five lucite bags that were my grandmother's, and just realized that at least two of them are Wilardy bags. They are so fabulous. The one I wear most often is a black oval double handled (like picnic basket handles) evening bag. The top and all around the body of the bag is encrusted with multi-colored gems and pearls. There is a mirror on the inside. I always get so many compliments on this purse, which I just adore. It would be great if you could post photos of people's pieces on this site. Thanks.

I have inherited a will Hardy lucite basket with 6 pieces of fruit... all signed. There is not much mention of other objects he produced other than handbags. apparently Jackie Kennedy had a chest made for her and some chandaliers in the White House were made by him.

I am an avid collector and I use my purses often, only to receive a barrage of compliments. Oh how I wish I could go back in time and get one of each! Thank you for your many contributions to the world of fashion, as a young adult I appreciate them so!

I bought a lovely black box style purse at a thrift store and was surprized to find it signed Wilardy on the inside hinge. It is opaque black, possibly lacquer on wood, doesn't appear to be lucite. There are 2 poodles facing one another on the front, and a design of very small flowers along the bottom edge. It is unlike any Wilardy I have ever seen and I am curious about it. was this a post-1967 design?
